Rivet International Going Out on the Town with the
Wal-Mart TechTank Fall Neighborhood Tour
Educating schools and communities about
integrating technology with everyday life
San Diego, CA - September 18, 2006 - Rivet International, developer of attachment accessories for personal mobile devices, today announced its participation in the Wal-Mart TechTank Fall Neighborhood Tour, emphasizing the relevance of technology in day-to-day activities to schools and local communities.
The TechTank, an eighteen-wheeler converted into a high-tech showcase, begins its tour of eight cities on September 19. Starting in Vestal, NY, the truck will spend six days at each tour stop, ending its trek in Louisville, KY on November 12. Holding seminars for students at local schools during the first half of each week, the tour aims to educate youths on real-life technology applications. On Fridays, the vehicle will visit local universities, holding Xbox 360 tournaments in the evenings. During the weekends, the TechTank will be located at local Wal-Mart stores, where it will be open to the public and also host Xbox 360 competitions on Saturday nights.
Community residents are encouraged to visit the TechTank and experience new technology products available at Wal-Mart, including offerings from Rivet. The company provides carrying solutions and stereo earphone lanyards for portable music players, such as the RHYTHM GRAB for iPod nano, RHYTHM Earphone Lanyard for any music player and GRAB for iPod Video 30 / 60GB. All of Rivet's accessories allow consumers to stay fashionably linked to their personal technology products.
"We are excited to participate in this excellent program, advocating interaction with the local community and its knowledge of technology," said Raleigh Wilson, CEO of Rivet International. "Rivet's simple, user-friendly products allow consumers to easily integrate technology into their daily lives, enabling them to stay connected to their mobile devices at all times."
"The Neighborhood Tour gives us an opportunity to expand the way young people experience technology. Our goal is to give each child new perspectives, both in serious endeavors like education and careers, as well as richer entertainment," said Robert Richardson, President of R3 Media Group, the company that operates the TechTank at Wal-Mart. "Rivet's participation illustrates the company's commitment to community and its emphasis on premium entertainment experiences."
